Stop Inflationary Spending Now!

César Grajales has lived through hellish inflation.

When 30% inflation devastated his home country of Columbia, his family sought refuge in the United States.

Since then, through hard work and the promise of America, César and his family have realized the American Dream, but he still has vivid memories of the nightmare of out-of-control government spending and what it can do to a once strong nation.

As you know, some very influential members of Congress are continuing to push for more and more reckless spending. This is on top of Congress’s recent history of trillion-dollar spending bill after trillion-dollar spending bill and the demand in Washington is still for even more spending. 

Together with César, Americans for Prosperity is working to rally a national uprising to stop this inflationary spending. We must stop this inflationary pressure before inflation devastates our country like it did to Colombia during César’s youth.

Inflation is a threat to every American.

You see the inflation taking hold every time you go to the grocery store or gas station. The numbers are shocking. According to a recent piece in The Wall Street Journal: 

“The Labor Department reported [in early August] that consumer prices have risen in the past year by 5.4%. Prices have risen at an annualized rate of 7.1% in 2021 and 8.4% in the past three months. The underlying drivers of consumer inflation are rising at least as fast, with the annual Producer Price Index for 2021 up 10.6% through June and the Import Price Index up 15.8%.” 

And what César’s family found so painful is starting here, in large part is due to Congress’ reckless inflationary spending. The Wall Street Journal went on to point out: 

“With a one-year certificate of deposit earning roughly 0.2%, a $50,000 nest egg has lost almost $2,000 of purchasing power in [the first seven months of 2021]… Average weekly earnings since January are up $15.59, but with inflation surging to levels not seen since the early 1980s, real weekly wages are down $8.99, the largest real-dollar drop in wages since Bureau of Labor Statistics data were first collected in 2006. By comparison, real wages have fallen more in the past seven months than they rose in the final 27 months of the Obama presidency.” 

Thanks to Congress’ extremely reckless inflationary spending, dark clouds are forming over every American’s future and that’s particularly true for those in poverty.

César has seen, firsthand, the damage that inflationary spending can do, and is pleading with the United States government to STOP INFLATIONARY SPENDING.
